Strolling through the Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills

Top by H&M. Leather Shorts by Forever 21. Shoes by Manolo Blahnik. Bag by KC Jagger.

Yesterday was an extremely busy day for me, but as right of passage I hate passing up a Saturday night out. We tried to keep it as relaxed and mellow as possible yet fun and enjoyable. In a previous blog post I mentioned stumbling upon live music at the Montage Hotel's "Parq" Lounge, in Beverly Hills. This time my boyfriend and I knowingly went back for some amazing coconut tea and live tunes. As usual the service was impeccable, the tea delectable, and the performance delightful. It was the same singer and pianist as last time-- Jerome Dean. He showcases Motown hits and it definitely feels like you stepped back into the 60's ever so slightly-- but I personally loved every minute of it! He's a ball of energy and always get the audience involved! If you're ever looking for something new to try on a Saturday night and love yourself some oldies, I urge you to give this place a chance!

Afterwards, we took a short stroll around the Montage as the decor is absolutely gorgeous! I also loved showing off my new H&M top. I didn't want it to hide the rest of my outfit so I tied the front part in a knot and just like that I had a fun new look!

My Three Favorite Looks from the Week of 6/22/15

(saboskirt.blogspot.fr)

I have decided to make it a weekly occurrence to share my three favorite looks. This week I have added a menswear still from the Giorgio Armani Spring 2016 Fashion Show. When I look at this man I think of a high-power, corporate executive who deep down inside is an edgy trendsetter. I love the pop of pastel color, the scarf around the neck, and the funky glasses mixed in with a conservative pant. Not crazy about the shoes, but I also saw them on the Givenchy runway so most likely this is gearing up to be a trend. Gentlemen, take note! Following is a look from the Naeem Khan Resort 2015 compilation. There is a clear prevalence of his usual formal and elegant style, yet this is actually wearable! Obsessed with the intricate beading and print! Of course it looks perfect paired with a delicate nude sandal! The last look is from saboskirt.blogspot.fr (seemingly a french blogger). I actually came across this on Pinterest and thought this was the singer Ciara, long behold I was redirected to a mecca of inspiration and fabulous looks of both travel and fashion. I am still confused as to whether the main model is the blogger or if this an online clothing boutique (per description on the Facebook page). Regardless, I would never assume light blue and gold would come together so beautifully!

How to Conquer Vegas in 24 Hours

There are different ways to travel to Las Vegas-- you can go with friends, family, significant other, for work (if you're lucky). Regardless of the occasion, those who are within a short travel distance to Vegas get that itch to visit regularly.

This past weekend my girlfriend invited me to accompany her to Sin City, although at first I had some scheduling conflicts, I decided my three year absence was reason enough to take her up on the offer. This was my first 24-hour trip to Vegas, but due to successful itinerary planning I opted to share my new found knowledge with everyone!

First and foremost I only recommend a short stay in Vegas when travel time is within an hour flight or drive to destination. If you've never been to Vegas before it is probably best to come for a longer period of time as Vegas has a lot of great attractions to offer. Most importantly, pack lightly; bring only what you are going to wear, and if possible reuse accessories such as shoes, jewelry, and handbags. Versatility is key for a short visit anywhere!

2. Take the first possible flight out, and yes that probably means you will have to wake up when it's still dark out. My flight was scheduled at 6:30AM and arrived in Vegas an hour later. Remember to grab a quick bite sometime in the process, possibly coffee and a scone, croissant, or anything that is light but filling.
3. Upon landing, go directly to your hotel and drop off bags. It will probably be too early for check in but most hotels extend the courtesy of holding your luggage. Always attempt for early check in, you may get lucky (it is Vegas after all)!
4. Go to the Lobby Bar and order your favorite drink of choice (depending on tolerance), or a drink that in your own opinion is synonymous with Vegas. My drink of choice is champagne. This will automatically evoke feelings of enthusiasm and excitement for the next 24 hours! Spend and hour or so unwinding and reuniting yourself with Vegas mentally.
5. You have now reached a pocket of time which is pretty much open to variation. It will probably be too early for a pool party but not enough time to get wrapped up in another activity. Options may include exploring the hotel or a little gambling. I was lucky because my girlfriend was already checked into the hotel and I took this time to leisurely take a few selfies/pictures and change into my pool attire.
6. If you're not checked in but need to get ready for the next venture-- a pool party-- you may ask to utilize the hotel spa to get ready (hotels often allow for this), some even if have a courtesy suite. If these options aren't available here is where your light packing and versatility will come into play. You should have everything within easy reach and be generally ready. If you have to quickly use the restroom to change, it should be no daunting task.
7. I suggest doing research about Vegas pool parties prior to arriving. Reach out to the venues you would like to attend because often they are able to offer discounts, or even free admission to events. Don't worry if you didn't, there are always promoters close by to pool party events looking to attract attendees.
8. Prior to the pool party I suggest having a light lunch as most likely you will want to look your best. We chose China Poblano (a fusion between Chinese and Mexican food) by chef Jose Andres, at the Cosmopolitan Hotel. I had chips and guacamole (a favorite) and their beet salad.
9. Time to have fun! Enjoy yourself, dance, sing, swim, whatever! Don't forget to drink lots of water! My recommendation is to have one drink only (depending on tolerance); pace yourself. If possible order the same thing you had earlier, or at least in the same color family. You still want to make it out tonight after all!
10. Pool parties generally last until 5PM, but I suggest leaving earlier around 4PM. Head back to the hotel and check in if need be. Take a nice, hot shower, and prepare yourself for a power nap. Wake up giving yourself enough time to get ready, have dinner, and gamble (if you enjoy it).
11. If possible choose a dinner meal which will make you full but not uncomfortable. Sushi is a great selection! We chose Katsuya at the SLS (always a good idea to dine at the hotel you're staying at). Since we are all from LA and they have a local location back home, we knew it would be fresh and delicious!
12. If you enjoy a little gambling, ideally you want to give yourself 30-40 minutes prior to the nightclub to partake in this. Who knows you may be lucky enough to cover your entire Vegas spendings (like I did last night!). You may want to consider gambling at the casino where your nightclub is located to be close by.
13. Last stop of the night! The infamous Vegas nightclub! Once again I recommend reaching out to the venues prior to travel, but you can probably find a club promoter near by any club location. Be mindful of the music you enjoy listening to as different clubs offer specific music genres. Also do you research on location and atmosphere, because these play a huge role in preference. We decided on XS at the Wynn last night. This has been my favorite club for many years-- it's very spacious, luxurious, and beautifully decorated. Currently they play mostly electro and house. My advice regarding alcohol is to have two drinks (depending on tolerance) similar to what you have been drinking all day, and stay hydrated! You want to be able to wake up alive tomorrow!

Sweet Lady Jane Dessert Cafe

Romper by Audrey 3+1. Shoes by Tory Burch. Bag by Old Navy. Watch by Guess.

My kriptonite is definitely delicious chocolate cake, but put some fresh bread pudding in from of me and I can't say no, especially the "Very Berry Bread Pudding" from Sweet Lady Jane.

Their West Hollywood cafe is a favorite of both locals and tourists alike! Being a WeHo resident, I like many love this location to grab some savory dessert, followed by an evening stroll on the famed Melrose Ave. Which is exactly what I did last night! It was also a perfectly warm summer evening to debut my new romper which I found scavenging through Downtown's Santee Alley a few months back. I must say Santee Alley has come a long way! Located in the heart of the "Los Angeles Shopping District," it is far from glamorous-- in fact it reminds me of a new age bazaar! Although bear in mind it is home to many designer showrooms and FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising). I was pleasantly surprised by the originality of the merchandise and although the prices have become more streamline, they are still a bargain compared to trendy boutiques.

My Three Favorite Looks from the Week of 6/15/15

I wanted to share my weekly fashion inspirations with everyone. The first look is from Rachel Zoe's Resort 2016 Collection. That back, wow! The second look is model and fashion trendsetter Elena Perminova at the Dior Cruise 2016 Show.  I have been a huge fan of hers for some time now. She normally does more grand and elaborate looks that are difficult to apply to an average wardrobe, but in this case I feel as though anyone can pull off a shift dress with black patent ankle boots. The third look is something I came across on Pinterest. I love the juxtaposition of her dress and bag, and how cool it looks paired together. So effortless yet so hip! Enjoy, and be inspired!

Anti-Aging Advice and Tips with Celebrity Esthetician Luba Shapiro!

Top by Timing. Skirt by Forever 21. Shoes by Zara. Bag by Aldo.

As a 20 year veteran in the skincare industry, Luba Shapiro knows a thing or two about beautiful skin or at least how to get it there. Featured in numerous publications, she has treated celebrities as well as educated many young women and men on the importance and basics of healthy skin. With expertise in skincare treatment and technique, she is also a product knowledge expert. Here is some of her skincare advice to young women and men.

ATR: What is your advice for anti-aging care in your 20's vs. your 30's?
Luba: In your 20's I would be more concerned with keeping your skin clean and fresh. You can use a little eye cream, but I wouldn't develop a rigorous routine just yet. In your 30's it is important to incorporate an anti-aging moisturizer and a potent eye cream. As for the strong treatments such as Botox and fillers, I would hold off until your 40's and 50's. Most importantly for both age groups, try and get regular facials and do not forget to take care of your skin at home. A healthy lifestyle and no smoking are also important rules to follow!

ATR: What is a good age to start anti-aging and how do you start?
Luba: Late 20's is a good time to start. If you have dry skin then mid 20's are a good time to invest in a rich moisturizer. For oily skin, you could wait a little longer. Eye cream you can use at any age-- it wouldn't hurt.

ATR: Do you have any favorite brands?
Luba: There are a lot of products on the market right now. You can always ask for samples and see what works best for your skin type.

ATR: What are some of the new and popular skincare treatments currently on the market?
Luba: People are trying a lot more dermatological treatments. It is not a bad idea to try these things in your 40's, but for young women and men I would not recommend this.

ATR: What is your advice for young women and men who want to have beautiful skin like celebrities but cannot afford the same products?
Luba: I always tell my clients it is very important to maintain and upkeep at home. If possible get regular facials, but if not try and do weekly exfoliation, daily cleansing, and keep up a healthy lifestyle at home. Speak to an esthetician or skincare expert regarding the best products for your skin and create a routine for yourself.

ATR: What is your advice for people who live in California and Arizona and like to be in the sun?
Luba: You have to be careful about how much time you spend in the sun. First, it causes wrinkles but most importantly too much sun is bad for the skin. However, I am one of those people that believes 10-15 minutes a day of sun is not a bad idea. A daily stroll outside gives you a nice glow and a dose of Vitamin D. Excessive sun is never good, and always put sunscreen on when on vacation or planning to spend a long period of time outside. Moderation is important to remember with sun exposure regardless of how much sunscreen you apply.

ATR: How did you decided to become an esthetician?
Luba: When I was 18 I had some problems with my skin-- mainly little bumps. Like many young women I always wanted to have healthy, glowing skin. This was many years ago in Ukraine, but I was able to find an esthetician who saved my skin! She did a lot of peels for me to be able to get rid of any breakouts, and she taught me what I have to do at home to be able to take care of it. Because of her, I now have beautiful skin. This was basically my inspiration. Her knowledge and the opportunity to help other people made me want to become an esthetician.

ATR: What is your favorite part about your job?
Luba: To help women look good and be happy about themselves and their skin.

ATR: What is your least favorite part about your job?
Luba: I am lucky because I enjoy every aspect of my job. I love meeting people and educating them on skincare. My only advice to others is to find a work life balance, this is what helps me appreciate my job and stay enthusiastic about it.

Luba currently works at "Ma Maison de Beaute," a fabulous skincare salon on the corner of Robertson Blvd. and Rosewood Ave. For those who are unfamiliar with Robertson Ave., it is a trendy street full of shops and restaurants in the heart of West Hollywood. A mecca of style and beauty, it is a popular hangout for celebrities and trendsetters as well their arch nemesis-- the paparazzi.

Tucked away on Rosewood Ave. the salon appears to be a chic cottage one could find as inspiration on Pinterest. On the inside, it is filled with understated luxury and serenity likewise Pinterest worthy. It offers both skincare salon services as well cosmetic dermatology. Although I love all the ladies who work here, I can't thank Luba enough for keeping my skin absolutely flawless, and because she's my mom!

Easiest Outfit To Take From Day To Night

Top by Theory. Sweater brand is unknown (gift from my mom). Pants by Chaser. Sandals by BP Nordstrom. Heels by Pour La Victoire. Bag by Stuart Weitzman.

Yesterday I knew I would be leaving work very late, yet still wanted to ring in Friday night (constant dilemma for me). Literally the easiest way to change an outfit from day to night is changing your shoes and adding an evening clutch. I also put a dark lip shade on to make it slightly more of an evening look. It took me all of two minutes to do that!

With no time wasted, we decided to check out the French restaurant Bouchon on Canon Dr. (unknowingly we got their right as they were closing). Side note, they close at 10:30PM and 9PM on Sundays. However, we were able to get away with ordering some dessert and drinks before they closed. A friend of ours, Andrew, is the Beverage Manager at Bouchon and suggested the most delicious drinks-- The Last Word (with gin) and The Wilshire (with whiskey). If you ever find yourself at this fun and fancy establishment, make sure to get his advice on any wine/cocktails you choose to order-- you will not be disappointed! The man knows his stuff!

For dessert, we ordered the baked meringue and 7 layer chocolate cake. Both were delicious, but if you have to settle on one, opt for the chocolate cake. The meringue may be a little sweet for some palettes.

Bouchon is located right next to the Montage Hotel and its beautiful garden, which is great for taking a stroll after dessert. As we did! We also popped in for some amazing coconut green tea at the Montage Hotel's Parq Bar. There was live music which apparently happens every night from 8PM-12AM (nice surprise!). This is a great place to wind down if you live in the Beverly Hills area and want to simply have a night cap.

Hotel Bel-Air Spa by La Prairie

(The last photo is from genlux.com. View of the Enclave private patio).

Last week I was lucky enough to experience the Diamond Perfection Body Treatment at the exquisite Hotel Bel Air Spa by La Prairie. Just the name of this service oozes luxury. Needless to say the treatment itself was absolutely divine. Beginning with an invogarating body scrub and polish, the service is completed with a caviar cream massage. The tranquility of the spa helps completely soothe the mind, and you leave feeling as a new person even if you just came for a quick mani.

A few of my other favorite treatments include the La Prairie Signature Facial with added CACI micro current (this facial is only offered at La Prairie spas and a some European spas and the results are unprecedented), and the Healthy Habits Package (a 60 minute massage and facial followed by tea service and vegan and gluten free snacks on a private patio).

The hotel itself was renovated a few years ago, and in my opinion evolved into the most prestigious and innovative hotel in Los Angeles. Tucked away in the upscale area of Bel Air, this resort-like property is beyond beautiful and private. It also serves as a perfect location for a staycation, because it literally feels like you're no longer in LA. Or you can just spend the whole day at the spa, which happens to be the only Five Star Spa in Los Angeles.

Trending: Overalls

Dress by The Addison Story. Bandeau by Image Boutique. Shoes by Not Rated. Bag by Michelle Fantaci for Lauren Merkin. Glasses are Vintage Dior.

I remember my first pair of overalls was in fifth grade-- they were dark burgundy and corduroy. I wore them every possible chance I had. Fast forward 16 years later and the trend is back! Granted my burgundy corduroy favorites are long gone, I am happy I can step it up a notch this time and add a little sass to the look. My overall dress can be worn both for daytime or nighttime, depending on how you accessorize it. Its versatility and comfort make it a wardrobe staple, at least for this season.

Sunday Morning Ritual (Where To Get Great Coffee and Breakfast in LA)

Dress and Belt are Vintage. Shoes by Bamboo. Glasses were purchased at a Boutique on Olympic & Genesee in LA (cannot remember the name).

I feel like everyone has a certain routine they always save for Sunday, whether it's brunch or watching a favorite show. My Sunday morning ritual has become Bristol Farms coffee (and most likely a croissant) followed by church, and when I miss one or the other my day just isn't the same.

I choose Bristol Farms for two simple reasons-- the food is amazing and fresh, and no lines/crowds. I normally come around 10AM and can get in and out in about 5 minutes. Normally I pick up my favorite combination of 1/2 decaf and 1/2 regular coffee and a croissant, and eat on the way to church. When my boyfriend is able to drag himself out of bed to join me, we pick up french toast and eggs or sausage from the hot bar.

If you've never heard of Bristol Farms, it's kind of like a boutique version of Whole Foods-- they have a great selection of pre-made meals as well as a great organic variety of produce. By the way their bakery/dessert section is hard to beat by most restaurants. Do yourself a favor a check it out!
